100 Watt Soldering Irons Get You Heated
Up For Stained Glass Work

Ask serious stained glass artists what soldering iron they find indispensable and the vast majority will undoubtedly reply "a 100 watt iron that provides consistent heat at the tip-day after day." Hexacon Electric of Roselle Park, New Jersey offers four such irons that have been recommended by a long list of artists, writers and instructors in the stained glass field.

The Hexacon P35 and 35H are medium duty 100 watt irons that feature the widely-acclaimed Hexacon XTRADUR 5/16" diameter long-life tip. For heavier use, the company recommends its P70 and 70H irons which come equipped with a 3/8" XTRADUR tip which offers 80 to 92% greater heat capacity than a 5/16" tip. Thus, heavier soldering tasks can be performed without increase to wattage and with only a small weight penalty. Hexacon's unique Hatchet design found on the 35H and 70H positions the soldering head and tip at a 102 degree angle to the handle making these perfectly balanced irons easier to use and less tiring during long soldering jobs.

The P70 and 70H are manufactured with Hexacon's unique, solid rod, hexagonal-shaped heater head that is extremely strong and which allows the iron to be dismantled safely using a vise or other clamping tool without crushing the housing. These irons feature solid hard wood handles that are easy-to-hold, lightweight and cool under long use.Every part of a Hexacon iron is separately replaceable which is why many Hexacon irons are still going strong after 25 years of use.
