A miniature Soldering Equipment
Analyzer with all of the capabilities and accuracy of larger
units is available from Hexacon Electric Company. Its small size
makes it so extremely portable that the G310 can be used to test
any soldering equipment at any location-any time the user wishes. The G310 operates on a 9V battery
and comes equipped with a storage case. It weighs less than 1
pound and the 6" x 3 1/2" unit fits comfortably in
the operator's hand.Anyone can use the G310. No special training
is required. All test results are digitally displayed on the
unit. An interface port for chart recording or a data logger
is also provided, if permanent test records are desired. With the iron at full heat, the
G310 will test tip temperature, ESD resistance and voltage leakage.
It can also be used for bench solder pots and soldering machines.
Optional thermocouple probe and test leads are available for
testing solder pots and soldering machines. Tip temperature can
be measured on all makes and styles of soldering tools by either
of two methods. The G310 provides a true temperature measurement
with an embedded thermocouple. A contact pyrometer test can also
be used for an approximate tip temperature measurement. ESD and
voltage leakage tests are performed by touching the heated tip
of the iron to a shim stock test coupon on the unit. Because of its small size and
battery operated convenience, the G310 is the ideal instrument
for testing soldering equipment for compliance with the newest
