Heavy-Duty Plug Tip Irons Wattage range from 100 to 550 watts. Irons 250 watts and above include an S12 cradle. Consistent idling temperature performance and long lifetime is ensured by an element with ±2% tolerance precision wound on a high conductivity, fast recovering, dimensionally stable core and insulated by top grade, high dielectric mica. All Hexacon elements are fully burnt-in to stabilize wattage and dielectric-tested at 1200V. Ultra-strong, alloy-steel, nickel plated case can be clamped in a vise for easy maintenance. Unique front nut design absorbs shock and extends lifetime of hot element. Unique heat interrupter/deflector keeps handle cool and permits a shorter, better balanced iron with greater directional control. Cool, comfortable, hardwood handle with full grip. Three-wire, grounded construction is standard, for maximum operator safety. Posi-ground option available. Burn resistant, extra-flexible, neoprene power cord is color-coded for wattage identification and will withstand accidental contact with a hot iron. Soldering tip, element and all other iron parts are separately replaceable for maximum versatility and economy. Long-life, Hexacon Xtradur tips are standard. Premium, non-freezing Durotherm tips optional.
