Hexacon Phenix Ultra-SG "Intelligent" Soldering Iron introduces load-sensitive, active temperature control to soldering in stained glass.

The Hexacon Phenix UltraSG brings a whole new way of thinking about soldering in stained glass. Featuring pre-programmed circuitryinside the handlethe Phenix UltraSG ensures preset temperature performance and controlled heat soldering for beading on copper foil and all types of decorative work without the need of a control knob or an additional rheostat.

The Phenix's HCP supervisory and monitoring circuitry senses the workload on the iron and ensures rapid response to changing thermal demands. Solder beads can be run continuously at your speed yet the iron never becomes too hot if used intermittently. It can safely be replaced in its holder for an indefinite period when fully powered and is ready to solder at a moment's noticewithout user intervention.

The variable power capacity of the Phenix minimizes the recovery time needed to replace heat and maintain temperature. The iron has been field tested to outperform competitor irons at twice its nominal power rating making it ideally suited to applications that normally require a 100 watt ironor biggerplus a rheostat for basic temperature control.

Manufactured in the United States to Hexacon's industry-standard quality levels, the Phenix is preset, pre-calibrated and certified before shipment to an operating temperature of 800 (±10) degrees Fahrenheit.

Other Phenix features include a specially-designed ceramic heating element for maximum thermal efficiency and rapid heat-up time, the industry's most comfortable, cushioned, elastomer finger grip, an oil-, water- and burn-resistant, neoprene, 3-wire power cord and a UL and UL-c rating.

The Phenix Ultra-SG uses standard Hexacon CT tips which are offered in a wide range of styles and sizes to suit any copper foil or decorative soldering task. Hexacon tips are the standard of excellence in all markets, here and abroad and are proven to last longer in difficult working conditions, long and continued use or sustained idle periods.
